goo.gl after being initially released for Google’s own products, now shortened web addresses available for use in an open and general.The shortening of URLs have been gaining popularity in recent years as they have expanded services microblogging and social networks where either for convenience or for being limited space, are needed.
Despite the existence of shorteners as popular as TinyURL or Bit.ly, many large Internet companies (Yahoo, Twitter, Amazon …) have created their own tools to shorten Web addresses, avoiding security problems (URLs that redirect to malicious sites) and dependence on third party services.
goo.gl addition to offering a service that addresses shorten stable, secure and fast, keeps track of the shortened URLs and clicks that users always have done that we have a Google account activated, allowing a webmaster a new way to manage web statistics while Google has access to new data that users generate on platforms such as Twitter or Facebook.
This new service from Google, which plans to release an API soon, and has some extensions for use with Chrome and Firefox browsers: Goo.gl Goo.gl URL Shortener and Lite.
