Eight people are missing and their families are working with authorities to locate their loved ones.Rick Brough announced that 20 residents were unaccounted, but 12 people have been located and eight of them are still missing.
About 3,500 people were evacuated after the Four Mile Canyon fire began on Monday morning.Flames quickly consumed 53 homes and close to 6200 acres, which is less than firefighters estimated yesterday.
According to authorities the wildfire, is at zero percent containment. Laura McConnel from Public Information Officer said ”Right now we’re not looking at containment or control of the fire,” that they are still doing what’s called structure and “point protection”.
Laura McConnell said that a fire behavioral analyst who is helping map the blaze for firefighters on the lines, says that this fire is, “misbehaving” and not behaving the way typical wildfires do this time of year. “It is erratic”, she added “It is like a small toddler; you have to keep an eye on it, be flexible and depending on what’s feeding it, it’s attitude and behavior can change.”Now the wildfire in Boulder County has the high priority nationwide, that means resources are pouring in from around the country, that including seven heavy tankers.
