Liu Xiaobo

Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo arrested, the Nobel Peace Prize 2010, dedicated his award to the victims of Tiananmen, as the trans-and intersex Human Rights in China, based in New York, which came into contact with the dissident’s wife after she talk to her husband. The dedication comes after another NGO, Freedom Now, Xia Liu announced he is arrested at her home in Beijing after visiting her husband in prison to tell him that he had received the award.

According to HRIC, “the meeting lasted about an hour” and in it the dissident told his wife to Tiananmen victims had given their lives “for peace, freedom and democracy.” Following the announcement on Friday that her husband was the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, told him that would be arrested. “He said it would be taken to the prison where her husband is arrested,” said spokeswoman Freedom Now.

Liu, the first Chinese to win the Nobel Peace Prize, is a writer of 54 years in detention since December after writing a manifesto signed by thousands of people to demand more rights in the communist country.
